Aura Colors and Meanings: A Guide to Seeing Auras

Posted on March 27, 2022February 2, 2023 by Michelle A

Do you sometimes feel uneasy around a particular person? When you enter a room, do you feel that something is wrong? This is because the human aura is a strong electromagnetic field. We give off electrical energy and absorb a magnetic one.

When there are many people in one room, can you feel the energy? This is when people exchange different kinds of energy, positive and negative. The more you are in tune with your aura, the more you will be able to feel it.

When you are around someone giving off negative energy, you might feel drained. You might also feel like this person is taking up too much space. In turn, if you are around someone giving off positive energy, you might feel energized.

The aura is an extension of our energy. It surrounds us, and we can sense it around every living thing. It’s like an invisible barrier. There are seven aura layers, but the most accessible to human perception is the first three layers surrounding the human body.

The first layer of the aura is the physical body. This is the densest layer, where we store our physical energy.

The second layer is the emotional body. This is where we store our emotions.

The third layer is the mental body. This is where we store our thoughts.

Aura Color Meanings

The colors of the aura can tell us about a person’s mood and health. A beautiful, bright color means that the person is happy and healthy. A dark color can mean that the person is sad or sick.

People who can see auras say that they appear as different colors around a person’s head. They can also see colors in the person’s aura that represent their mood or emotions.

Colors are an essential aspect of aura readings. Below is a description of the interpretations different colors hold. When reading auras, be sure to always trust your intuition. Colors can have different meanings based on each person, so choosing what speaks to you is important.

Black:

Blue:

This color is confusing. There is nothing wrong with black in one’s aura. It can mean that someone is shielding themselves from outside energies or that they are unbalanced. Someone who wears a black ring usually indicates that they have experienced some form of abuse, and adults who have not dealt with their abuse will carry this black ring until they heal.

Some people have a blue aura. This means they are gifted or intuitive. The blue might be pale, like rays of sunshine coming out from the heart. Muddy shades of blue represent that someone is domineering or tending towards depression. Deeper blues indicate loneliness, honesty, and good judgment.

Brown:

This color can indicate growth in a person. Seen around the head and with other colors in combination, it shows a person developing mentally, intuitively, and organizing within. Brown by itself can indicate a lack of energy or one who has become “stagnant.”

Gold:

Gold can indicate lots of spiritual energy in tune with oneself. Muddy gold means one has not come to terms with one’s higher levels.

Yellow:

Green:

This is usually seen around a thinker, an analytical person. Yellow could indicate a “balanced” person. At times, intelligent people show this color around their heads.

Green can mean sympathetic to others, dependable, and has healing abilities. Muddier shade could indicate jealousy- like “green with envy.”

Gray:

Can indicate intuition and creativity. Silvery gray shows femininity, while darker gray can mean secretiveness or physical imbalance.

Orange:

Pink:

When a person grows emotionally and paranormally, they will have a bright orange aura. If someone has a dull shade of orange, it means they are unsure how to accept this growth. If somebody has a muddy orange aura, they may have too much pride.

Pink is often seen as a color of love and honesty. It can also show the more creative and artistic side of someone. Dark pink may mean that someone is still young or their love life is changing. Dull pink, however, could mean that someone is lying to you.

Purple:

Red:

The color of intuition, a deeper purple hue, shows a strong-willed and passionate person. It can also reflect intense erotic imagination and being overbearing.

Red is a color of love or hate, strong emotions, and energy. However, an intense red color may indicate a person is ready to fly off the handle.

A Guide To Seeing Auras

An aura is a subtle, luminous energy field that surrounds every living creature. It is most commonly seen as a glowing light that extends around the body.

There are many ways to see an aura, but the easiest way is to use your peripheral vision. Focus your gaze on a blank wall or another solid surface, and allow your eyes to relax. Once your eyes are relaxed, you should begin to see a faint halo of light around the edges of objects. With practice, you will be able to see auras more clearly.

To see an aura around a person, have them stand in front of a solid background, such as a wall. Relax your eyes and look at their head and shoulders. You should see a faint halo of light surrounding them. With practice, you will be able to see the aura more clearly.

Different people perceive colors differently. My advice is to open your mind and see which colors are associated with different types of people and their behaviors.

Play with this a bit. Do people’s auras change when they think happy thoughts? Sad thoughts? Angry thoughts? If you focus on their heart, does the color of their aura change?

Use What Works for You.

You may find that you see auras in different ways at different times. Some people see them as wavy lines, while others see them as clouds of color. Just take it one step at a time and trust your intuition.

If it takes a while to see auras, don’t worry. As you work on this, you will gradually become aware of the different energy layers surrounding people.

Now that you know how to see auras, what colors do you see around people? Do specific colors tend to show up more frequently than others? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
